FAQ

What do the Foodbank Rus' volunteers do?

The Foundation needs the help of volunteers in solving a variety of problems. You can become a truck driver and pick up food and goods from the manufacturer’s warehouse, create food and goods packages at the Foundation’s warehouse or in retail chain stores, deliver aid to those in need as a courier, and collect donations at store checkouts. You can also walk animals in shelters and deliver food collected from projects to them.

Explore our projects to better understand where you may need help.

How are volunteers distributed among projects?

Within 2-10 days after you fill out the volunteer application, we will contact you and discuss the details of your participation in the life of the Foundation. We will take into account your wishes and capabilities, correlate them with current projects and tasks and offer you several options to choose from.

How long on average is a volunteer's help required?

It all depends on the specific task. On average, one package of products takes 3 hours. Of course, when planning your work, we take into account how much time you are willing to help.

Do Volunteers of the Foodbank Rus need special physical training?

The Foundation’s volunteers really move a lot and are active: they unload boxes of food from trucks, pack food into kits, and deliver kits to those in need. If you are friends with sports, then working with us will be easy for you. If you are not in your best shape, you will find it on our projects ;) Or we will select tasks for you about bono: we always need help in writing texts, designing and layout of materials, compiling tables and other similar matters.

Can I participate in the project together with my friends or relatives?

Of course, together it’s more fun! Ask each of your “+1s” to fill out a volunteer application.

Is volunteering only for young people?

Volunteering has no age restrictions. If you have the strength and desire to help, we will always find suitable tasks.

Can I become a Foundation volunteer if I am under 14?

Yes, if volunteer work does not interfere with your studies and your parents or legal representatives come with you to the project. Keep in mind that you will not be allowed to respond to emergency situations, work at night, or move heavy objects.

Are volunteers given a uniform or any equipment?

We prepared cool merch for the volunteers: bright vests and canvas bags. If necessary, we provide disposable gloves and masks for work on projects.

Can I receive food or goods in exchange for volunteering?

Volunteering does not imply payment: neither in money, nor in food and goods. If you are in a difficult life situation, you can apply for help from the Foundation. We will do our best to support you.
