During the first two months of 2021, the Foodbank Rus distributed 614 tons of food and essential goods among the needy 23 regions of Russia.
World NGO Day
On February 27, around the world, one of the most important holiday for charitable organizations was celebrated, World NGO Day.
On this day, several educational webinars were held for our volunteers and heads of regional offices.
The webinars were held as part of the Products to Help Project—implemented with the support of grants from the Mayor of Moscow.
In addition, the Forum of philanthropists and patrons of the arts of Russia took place, where I, as the President of the Foodbank Rus, took part in one of the sessions.
Own Base of Beneficiaries
We are gradually expanding our representation in the regions. Now we have regional offices in 11 regions of Russia. And we actively started to create our own base of beneficiaries. This will help us know exactly the number of those in need, promptly provide assistance, including giving out products from donors with a short shelf life.
In order to become one of our wards, you must fill out a questionnaire on the website and attach documents confirming the need for assistance.
“Basket of Kindness” Successful Online Collection
In February, the online marathon “Basket of Kindness” (“Korzina dobroti”) was completed, within the framework of which assistance was provided to lonely elderly people and needy families with children living in the Sverdlovsk Region. Thanks to donations from people from all over the country, 1000 sets have been formed!
Now on the site корзинадоброты.рф the online collection for low-income families with children living in the Kurgan Region has started.
The marathon will last until June 1, International Children’s Day!
